A dear friend invited me for lunch and served this delightful quiche. Of course I had to see how this could be adapted to fit our product line. Hope you enjoy the modifications too.
INGREDIENTS
8 ounces Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
6 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream
8 ounces Silver Creek turkey summer sausage, cubed
½ cup yellow onion, diced
½ cup sweet red pepper, diced
½ cup orange pepper, diced
2 cups steamed broccoli florets
1 tablespoon butter
½ teaspoon black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
In a skillet over medium high heat melt 1 tablespoon of butter, add onions, peppers, and sausage. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until onions are translucent and peppers are fork tender.
In a bowl add eggs and heavy cream. Whisk together, then blend in black pepper.
Place sausage, peppers, onions, broccoli, and 6 ounces of cheese in a greased 9-inch deep dish pie plate.
Pour the egg mixture over the meat and veggies.
Sprinkle the remaining 2 ounces of cheese over the mixture.
Place in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until you can jiggle the pan and the quiche doesn’t shake in the center. Remove and let cool for about 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
