Ingredients
24 oz Silver Creek Beef or Garlic Summer Sausage
16 oz shredded cheese, divided
12 oz tomato or pizza sauce
1 large sweet onion
24 King’s Hawaiian Slider Buns
2 Tablespoons butter Olive oil to brush on tops of buns
Dried parsley & seasoned salt*
Instructions
Slice summer sausage into thin pieces and set aside
Slice onions into thin slices
Melt butter in a large frying pan, add onions, and sauté until tender & slightly browned
If buns are not already pre-sliced, slice buns in half
Spray 9x13 pan with cooking spray to keep buns from sticking
Place the bottom half of buns in a pan & spread a bit of sauce on top of each bun covering it
Add a layer of cheese followed by a layer of onions (about half of each)
Place 3 slices of summer sausage on each bun(feel free to be generous with sausage & a bit more)
Layer with remaining onions and sprinkle the remainder of cheese on top
Cover with bun “tops”
Cover with foil & place in a 400 degree oven until cheese melts and meat is warmed through
About 15 minutes
Remove pan from the oven, brush tops with oil and garnish with seasoning
Serve and enjoy
*Seasoning for tops of buns - use your favorite combo
